Threshold had a blast at the San Francisco Theater Festival this past Sunday with our most recent production Ayravana Flies, or a Pretty Dish by Sheila Callaghan. We had a great crowd at our 1 pm show at the Rock Circle Stage, and loved seeing such great mix of both old, friendly faces and new ones!
Thank you to Ryanne and Brant for being such amazing co-producers, as well as performers, for this show.
Here is a peek at the whimsical world of Ayravana as seen through Maria Stabio's camera eye:

Wall of Sand is an "artistic study of temptation and greed"
Wall of Sand is a compelling "artistic study of temptation and greed" according to The Lowell, the school newspaper that covered Within the Wall of Sand and its very own homegrown talent Kalson Chan and Benson Ma.
Written in the wake of the play's debut, the playwrights not only get a chance to speak about their process, and the themes in their play, but how they feel Threshold rendered the world and maintained their vision.
Benson says: “The synchrocity of the background music, acting gestures and lines could not have been better in bringing life out of our manuscript."
Kalson enthuses: “The actors were wonderful, almost exactly like how I envisioned them to be and the use of the ensemble and minimalist setting really added to the atmosphere of the play."

Within the Wall of Sand Photos
Thanks so much to Nick Duran and Maria Stabio
for their beautiful photos of our production Within the Wall of Sand.
WTWS is a strange and wonderful cross between a Beckett play and the Twilight Zone, with more than a smattering of Biblical allusions.
The play featured Alex Curtis as "Milton"and Pamela Davis as "Jane."
Jolene Saiyad, Brittany Berg, Megan Lowe played "The Motel."

Threshold's Producing Debut!
We are thrilled to make our producing debut in partnership with the fabulous Lauren Yee and the San Francisco Young Playwrights Festival. Core member Jessica Holt is directing the short new play Within the Wall of Sand by new playwrights Benson Ma and Kalson Chan. The play also features Core Members Alex Curtis and Pamela Davis.
A strange and wonderful cross between a Beckett play and the Twilight Zone, with more than a smattering of Biblical allusions. It is about two hobos who find themselves trapped in a deserted motel during an unrelenting sand storm. They discover that this motel provides for their every wish. But it has consequence. It is a morality story that asks the question: "Do we choose our own prisons or are our prisons chosen for us?" Appearances are not what they seem here, and the hobos both learn to be careful what they wish for.
